Aleksandros Spaho ’24 is excited to begin his studies at the University of New Haven. An international affairs major, he is especially looking forward to beginning his classes and to meeting his classmates and professors.

Spaho chose the University because he believed it to be the best choice for his major. He likes that the University’s international affairs program is offered within the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences.

“I always have had an interest in U.S. politics and world politics,” said Spaho, of Watertown, Conn. “It was something I followed closely because it is important to our future to understand how world governments operate.”

Spaho says it was when he attended an open house at the University as a high school student that he knew he had found his home for the next four years.

“The community and the environment at the University are special,” he said. “I felt welcomed. The environment was exciting. I felt this connection that made me say: ‘This is the one.’”

Interested in investing, martial arts, and learning the masonry trade, Spaho is also passionate about making a meaningful impact on the world. He has been committed to volunteer work, and he hopes to continue to make an impact throughout his career.

“My passion is to be able to help the world,” he said. “Because I am going into international affairs, my goal is to make sure I am able to do something positive for the world.”
